It's not a bad user interface in fact, it's pretty easy to find your way around on individual pages, once you learn how the site is laid out. NerdWallet’s user experience would be more effective if the company reduced the website's real estate. A link in the site's upper-right area opens a window that contains your net worth and credit score. The menu also links to a set of financial calculators. Three drop-down menus at the top of the screen take you to a directory that houses NerdWallet's editorial coverage of financial products (“best of” articles, reviews, guides, and tips). There’s additional navigational help on this page, though. Unfortunately, the home page lacks the account overview, income/expense graphs, and task reminders that competitors offer on their home pages.

For example, when you click Personal Loans, you see links to a payment calculator, as well as shopping pages for unsecured personal loans and loans that consolidate high-interest debt. When you click one of those options, a page opens displaying links to tools, related editorial content that serves up financial advice, and product options (like, “Compare the top credit cards”) at the top. Now, there are eight boxes representing the site’s core content areas: Credit Cards, Investing, Insurance, Student Loans, Mortgages, Personal Loans, Banking, and Travel. In the old site design, you'd see your credit score right off the bat, along with a comparison of the current month’s spending and the previous month’s. NerdWallet revamped much of its user interface and navigation tools since the last time I reviewed it.
